Marrakech Cup
At the heart of the Marrakech Tour is our season-long competition — The Marrakech Cup.
The Marrakech Cup is designed to reward consistency, performance, and competitive spirit throughout the golfing season. Across each event of the Marrakech Tour, players will compete not only for individual tournament success, but also for valuable ranking points that contribute towards the overall Marrakech Cup standings.
How the Points System Works
Points are awarded after every competition to encourage both strong finishes and exciting golf performances throughout the season.
Players earn points based on:
- Final tournament position
- Number of birdies achieved during each round
The top 10 finishers in every event will receive ranking points, with additional points awarded for birdies scored during play.
This format rewards:
- Consistent performances throughout the year
- Competitive scoring
- Attacking and positive golf
- Participation across multiple events
A live Marrakech Cup leaderboard will be updated after each competition so members can follow the season rankings and track their progress throughout the year.
Qualification Rules
To qualify for the Marrakech Cup standings, players must compete in a minimum of 7 or 8 events during the season.
While the Marrakech Tour will feature up to 12 competitions across the year, only a player’s best 7 or 8 results will count towards their final Marrakech Cup total.
This system:
- Encourages regular participation throughout the season
- Allows flexibility for members who may miss certain events
- Rewards consistent high-level performances
- Keeps the competition exciting right until the final event
Every tournament matters, as players will always have the opportunity to improve their ranking by replacing lower-scoring results with stronger performances later in the season.
The Race to the Marrakech Trophy
After the completion of the Marrakech Tour season, the player with the highest accumulated points from their best qualifying events will be crowned Marrakech Cup Champion.
The winner will receive:
- The prestigious Marrakech Cup Trophy
- Recognition as the season’s overall champion
- A featured profile on the Marrakech Golfing Society website and social platforms
The Marrakech Cup is more than just a trophy — it represents a full season of commitment, consistency, sportsmanship, and outstanding golf across the best courses in Marrakech.
